BSL Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant - Long-Term Full-Time Role (High School)

Location: Bolton, Greater ManchesterHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PMStart Date: As soon as possible

Randstad Education is currently recruiting for a skilled and compassionate BSL Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive high school in Bolton. This is a long-term, full-time role offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students who are deaf or have hearing impairments, alongside additional and complex learning needs.

We are seeking an experienced TA who can communicate confidently using British Sign Language (BSL Level 2 or above) and is comfortable providing both academic and emotional support to students on a 1:1 or small-group basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students with hearing impairments and complex needs across KS3 and KS4
• Use BSL Level 2 to facilitate communication and access to learning
• Provide targeted 1:1 and group support to help pupils engage with lessons and build confidence
• Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to implement EHCPs effectively
• Contribute to creating an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
• Assist with personal care when necessary, promoting independence and dignity

Essential Requirements

• BSL Level 2 qualification (or higher)
• Minimum 6 month's experience supporting students with SEN in a UK school
• Experience working in a high school or with secondary-aged pupils
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
• Full eligibility to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
• Willingness to support with personal care if required
• Available to work Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
