Job description

Overview

My client, a boutique broker, is looking to hire a Broker Actuary to join their team in London. They do 3 days minimum in the London office. This is exclusive to Eames.

The client has branched out into reinsurance and as such, they require an experienced Actuary to join to champion certain areas of reinsurance (most likely cyber and ILS) however there is scope to get involved in all lines. You will also get exposure to direct insurance (about 15% of your time).

Responsibilities

• Develop and champion reinsurance pricing and strategy for targeted lines (cyber and ILS likely, with scope across all lines).
• Blend actuarial analysis with broker and underwriter perspectives to support commercial decisions and stakeholder management.
• Collaborate across reinsurance and direct insurance activities, contributing to pricing, coverage interpretation, and risk assessment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience in reinsurance pricing and strong communication skills.
• Ideal candidate: FIA 2025-2022; open to those who are Nearly Qualified.
• Ability to think like an Actuary, Broker, and Underwriter simultaneously, with strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management.

London-based role with a minimum of 3 days in the London office.
