Bookkeeper – Location: Bournemouth, BH7 6BQ • Salary: £25-30k (depending on experience) • Contract: Full-time, permanent • Holiday: 25 days plus Bank Holidays

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional to join our team!

While previous experience as a Legal Cashier is highly desirable, we are equally open to applications from experienced Bookkeepers with strong all-round accounts knowledge who are eager to build their career within the legal sector. Full training on legal compliance and the Solicitors Accounts Rules will be provided.

About the Role

This position is essential to the smooth financial operation of our firm, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in all transactions.

You will be responsible for managing client accounts, maintaining financial records, and supporting day-to-day finance operations. This is a varied and responsible role where attention to detail and the ability to prioritise are key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and manage client accounts, ensuring funds are allocated and tracked correctly.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Process transactions, including credit card payments, receipts, transfers, cheques, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (training provided if needed).
  • Prepare VAT returns and assist with financial reporting.
  • Handle client monies in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Collate payroll data and support HMRC and pension submissions.
  • Provide financial information for accountants, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
