Bodyshop Manager – Location: Irthlingborough – Salary: £50k - £60k dependent on experience – Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

We are a busy, ever growing Bodyshop specialising in vehicle body preparation and paint spraying. We are looking for a hands‑on Bodyshop Manager who is confident leading a team from the workshop floor while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and finish.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in body prep and spraying who enjoys being involved day to day, supporting the team, keeping work moving, and stepping in on the tools when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Bodyshop on a daily, hands‑on basis across prep, paint, and finishing
  • Actively support the team with body preparation, spraying, and problem‑solving where needed
  • Plan and manage workflow to ensure jobs are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Carry out quality checks and final inspections before vehicles are released
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, and environmental regulations
  • Manage materials, paint usage, and consumables to minimise waste
  • Train, mentor, and develop body shop staff
  • Liaise with customers and management regarding job progress and quality
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in vehicle body preparation and paint spraying
  • Previous experience as a Bodyshop Manager, Lead Sprayer, Senior Prepper, or Workshop Supervisor
  • Strong practical knowledge of paint systems, prep methods, and finishing standards
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain productivity on the workshop floor
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
