A leading construction materials company in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Operations and Production Manager. This role involves directing day-to-day manufacturing operations, managing plant resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have experience in the construction materials industry, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to oversee inventory and maintenance programs effectively. A commitment to safety and quality standards is essential.
Direct day‑to‑day manufacturing operations to maximise output, minimise costs and meet customer demand and delivery schedules.
Resource Allocation: Manage and optimise all plant resources including personnel, equipment, raw materials (cement, aggregates, water, admixtures) and utilities.
Inventory Control: Oversee inventory of raw materials, parts, molds and finished products, coordinating with purchasing and sales to prevent shortages and manage stock.
Maintenance Oversight: Facilitate and direct the maintenance programme for all plant machinery – block machines, mixers, batching systems, curing chambers, fork trucks and mobile equipment.
Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Troubleshooting: Develop and implement a robust PM schedule to minimise equipment downtime and maximise utilisation.
Safety Compliance: Develop, implement and strictly enforce all company and governmental Health, Safety and Environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA) and promote a strong safety culture among all personnel.
