Job summary

A healthcare institution in Gobowen is seeking a HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join their Blood Sciences department. Responsibilities include providing a diagnostic service, maintaining laboratory standards, and supporting continuous professional development. The ideal candidate will have experience in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, or Blood Transfusion and the ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. This position involves participation in an out-of-hours service.

Qualifications

• HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist with relevant post-registration experience.
• Experience in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology or Blood Transfusion is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the provision of a diagnostic service part of a 37.5-hour week.
• Understand and perform a range of laboratory procedures.
• Attain proficiency in Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
• Participate in the out-of-hours service.
• Deputise for Senior BMS staff in their absence.
• Maintain the laboratory to UKAS standards.
