You will perform a variety of tests ensuring smooth lab operations, participate in a 24/7 service after training, and mentor trainees. Ideal candidates will possess a relevant Biomedical Science qualification and have a strong commitment to quality and teamwork.
Royal Cornwall hospital provides pathology services for Cornwall & is currently looking for a motivated Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to become part of the Haematology, Coagulation and Blood Transfusion team covering the full range of available tests rotating through all sections.
Our laboratory has full ISO 15189 Accreditation status, and the Transfusion laboratory is fully MHRA compliant. The laboratory is equipped with Abbott Alinity HQ full blood count analysers, Werfen Coagulation TOP analysers, Grifols Erytra blood grouping analysers and access to Sebia capillary electrophoresis for haemoglobinopathy and antenatal sickle cell and thalassaemia screening. The hospital is a Haemostasis Centre with the laboratory undertaking advanced coagulation thrombotic and haemorrhagic investigations.
You will participate in a 24/7 rota after suitable training.
