Job Title: Biology Teacher

Salary: £162-£223 per day

TeacherActive is working with a well-known mainstream secondary school with a strong sense of community in the Mansfield area, Notts. The school have high aspirations and offer fantastic support to all of its staff.

The school is looking to take on a Biology teacher starting in February 2026. The successful applicant will be working across both Key Stages 3 and 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs.

The role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.

Responsibilities

• Aim to deliver high-quality Biology teaching across KS3 and KS4 and contribute to GCSE preparation.
• Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons that align with the school’s schemes of learning.
• Support the development of students’ literacy and reading skills within the Science curriculum.

The successful Biology Teacher will be:

• A graduate with qualified teacher status.
• An outstanding teacher in Science/Biology, with a strong teaching record.
• Relevant qualifications (both formal and through appropriate experience) to meet the challenge of the appointment.
• Excellent in-depth knowledge of the Science/Biology curriculum and its role in developing young people.
• An understanding of the importance of a rigorous reading strategy to ensure students’ confidence and reading fluency.
