About the Company

Our client is a growing renewable energy company who offer substantial Energy Savings through the supply of commercial solar and lower energy prices. They are committed to delivering high-quality, sustainable energy solutions across the UK and are seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join the team in Hull, you will be responsible for sourcing, tendering and securing a constant flow of framework opportunities within central government, local authority and the private sector.

Role Overview

The Bid Manager will be responsible for managing the full bid lifecycle across government procurement portals, public-sector frameworks, and local authority tender opportunities. This role requires someone with good Electrical understanding combined with a proven track record of producing compliant, high-quality submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, track, and evaluate tender opportunities across government and local authority portals (e.g., Contracts Finder, CCS, YORtender, ProContract).
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, including PQQs, SQs, ITTs, framework applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate internal teams (engineering, design, compliance, finance, H&S) to gather technical and commercial inputs.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and compelling bid responses aligned with tender requirements.
  • Ensure submissions are fully compliant with specification, legislation, and procurement guidelines.
  • Maintain bid libraries, templates, case studies, and evidence packs.
  • Work to strict deadlines, prioritising tasks effectively to meet submission schedules.
  • Assist with bid strategy development, win themes, and value propositions.
  • Support contract handover processes for successful bids.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, government procurement changes, and renewable-energy market developments.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience preparing and submitting bids/tenders for government, public-sector, or local-authority projects (essential).
  • Background in the lighting, solar PV, electrical, renewable energy, or M&E industry (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, compliance requirements, and industry terminology.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and document-production skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids concurrently under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with government procurement portals and tender platforms.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Competence in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with bid-management tools is advantageous.
