Behaviour Buddy - Primary Teaching Assistant

Empowering Learning are seeking a resilient, caring, and proactive Behaviour Buddy to support pupils within a welcoming primary school in Wigan. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.

About the Role
  • Providing 1 : 1 and small-group support to pupils with additional behavioural or emotional needs
  • Helping pupils develop positive coping strategies and engagement in lessons
  • Supporting the class teacher with behaviour management and inclusion strategies
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage positive change
  • Assisting with classroom activities and creating a supportive learning environment
We're Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, care, or similar)
  • A calm, patient, and encouraging approach
  • Strong behaviour management skills or a willingness to learn
  • Someone reliable, empathetic, and confident in supporting challenging behaviour
  • A commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing
