Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: From £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Location: Bexley, South-East London

An inclusive and well-supported primary school in Bexley is recruiting a skilled Behaviour Mentor / Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent, full-time, term-time only basis from January 2026. This role is suited to an experienced professional who is confident managing behaviour and committed to supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group SEMH support
  • Help pupils manage emotions, behaviour and engagement with learning
  • Apply behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and the wider inclusion team
  • Encourage positive behaviour, resilience and independence
  • Maintain a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
  • Support pupils across the primary age range
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working in UK schools is essential
  • Strong background supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Confident, consistent and effective behaviour management skills
  • Calm, firm and empathetic approach
  • Reliable, resilient and committed to pupil progress
  • Able to build positive working relationships with pupils and staff
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
