Job description
The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching are looking for experienced Behaviour mentor's to be a role model to children who need someone to look up to and get them on the right track. We need someone that has excellent communication and rapport building skills and a passion for connecting with vulnerable students. Hours are flexible and you can choose between morning, noon or evening sessions and fit it around your schedule.

This is more than just a mentoring role - it's about forming a trusting relationship, meeting the student where they are, and helping them re‑engage with their learning and life goals. You'll play a crucial part in supporting their personal development, acting as a positive and consistent role model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build a strong, empathetic connection with students to encourage trust and openness.
  • Deliver individual mentoring sessions to help students understand and regulate their emotions.
  • Provide guidance on managing behaviour, avoiding negative influences, and building positive coping strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, teachers, and professionals to develop and maintain a structured, supportive plan tailored to the student's needs.
  • Foster a safe, calm, and non‑judgemental space where students feel seen and heard.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience working one-to-one with children or young people experiencing behavioural or mental health difficulties.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
