A global law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the Industrial & Chemicals sector. You will play a key role in delivering the firm’s Clients & Sectors strategy, working closely with Sector Leaders to shape and implement a forward‑looking approach that supports profitable growth through targeted client engagement and cross‑selling. As part of the globally diverse BDM team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues and lawyers to develop initiatives that align with the firm priorities. The role offers a varied and stimulating workload, with strong opportunities for learning, development, and progression within a supportive and collegiate environment.
Develop and execute a clear Industrial & Chemicals sector strategy, aligned to firm‑wide priorities and focused on profitable growth.
Use data, market intelligence and client feedback to inform strategic decisions and identify high‑potential opportunities.
Lead sector‑specific business development initiatives, CRM strategies and go‑to‑market campaigns in collaboration with BDM teams.
Oversee client portfolio reviews to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and sector developments.
Support pitch strategy and submissions, working with Pitching teams to deliver compelling proposals and client meeting preparation.
Monitor performance against targets and KPIs to track the effectiveness of sector strategy and BD efforts.
Facilitate cross‑sector collaboration and best practice sharing, ensuring coordinated client targeting across sectors.
Proven experience in a global sector BD role within legal or professional services, with a strong understanding of cross‑selling strategies and sector‑driven growth.
In‑depth knowledge of the Industrial & Chemicals sector, with insight into client needs, market trends, and sector challenges.
Demonstrated success in developing and implementing sector‑specific BD strategies that drive revenue and support strategic objectives.
Clear understanding and experience of CRM tools and best practice in client relationship management.
Strong collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively with senior partners, relationship managers, and client teams.
Comfortable navigating complex environments, using data‑led insights to inform decisions and bring together multiple moving parts.
This role can be based in our London offices, with a hybrid working model available.
