Bartender for Orient Express Sailing Yachts

Description

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Bartender on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts. The Bartender provides exceptional service to each individual guest and to achieve the maximum revenue in the assigned outlet. Must supervise the entire assigned lounge and bar. A Bartender plays an integral part in the overall guest satisfaction and experience provided by the set company standards. The bartender must be good at mixing ingredients for alcoholic drinks, e.g. cocktails. Other duties include managing bar staff, stocking, and the cleanliness of the bar area. Many passengers like chatting to bartenders, so they need to be extroverts and enjoy socializing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains inventory levels, cleanliness and organization for assigned bar.
  • Responsible for assisting with achieving the departmental guest satisfaction targets for the bar department.
  • Responsible for assisting with achieving the departmental revenue targets for the Bar Department.
  • Responsible for assisting with achieving the department cost of sales targets for the Bar Department.
  • Fosters premium bar sales through pro-active upselling.
  • Ensures that back bar set up and beverage displays in assigned area are according to Company guidelines.
  • Ensures that the Company policy regarding drink age is always followed.
  • Responsible for preparing drinks according to the standard recipes.
  • Ensures that work area is kept neat, clean and organized at all times and all pertinent USPH regulations are upheld in assigned bar area.
  • Responsible for properly accounting for food and/or beverage sales in the POS terminal.
  • Conducts inventory at the end of each voyage for assigned bar area. Responsible for overages and shortages of product.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.
  • Active participation in onboard training programs.
  • Additional duties, not mentioned here, will be expected as per management request.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • Languages: Fluent English plus one additional international languages required (French, German, Spanish, Mandarin).
  • Education: High school degree or related. Hospitality training appreciated.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 – 3 years as bartender in a luxury environment.
  • Shipboard experience: Not required but preferred.
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
