Overview

Are you a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in childrens lives? Join our Childrens Community Health Team at HCRG Care Group, where you will provide high-quality Occupational Therapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to children, empowering them and their families to achieve their full potential.

As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in a multidisciplinary team, supporting children with a range of developmental and performance challenges. You will work in partnership with families, carers, and other professionals to enable self-management, independence, and well-being in childrens daily lives.

Base: You will be based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs, with the flexibility of hybrid working to support your professional and personal needs. HCRG Care Group is a flexible-first employer with an agile working approach to deliver high-quality care.

Main duties
  • Assess and provide tailored advice and interventions for children with diverse needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families and carers.
  • Recommend and support the use of specialist equipment for home and school settings.
  • Liaise with professionals across health, education, social care, and voluntary sectors to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Provide sensitive and effective communication with children and their families, adapting to their needs and circumstances.
  • Contribute to team performance targets and participate in supervision, training, and team meetings.
  • Assist with prioritising treatment goals for children with complex needs or terminal illnesses, ensuring appropriate discharge planning and referrals.

Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of postgraduate training or equivalent experience relevant to specialty such as child development (conditions affecting child development, autistic spectrum disorder, ADHD, neurodevelopmental conditions)
  • Demonstrable post-registration experience of working with children in paediatric practice
  • Experience of using a range of assessments and treatment methods

Desirable

  • Member of BAOT
  • Membership of Special Interest Group
  • Clinical Educators qualification
  • Experience working in a community setting delivering children’s Occupational Therapy services

Other requirements: the successful applicant will need to be a car driver
