A community health service provider in London seeks a Paediatric Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapist to lead and deliver specialized services for children with musculoskeletal conditions. The role requires collaboration with health, education, and social services professionals to ensure a highly coordinated care plan tailored to children and families with English as an additional language. JOB PURPOSE
Be responsible for the delivery and development of the Paediatric Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Services within Central London Community Health Care Trust (CLCH).
The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner, taking a lead in co-ordinating and providing a highly specialist physiotherapy service to children with MSK, Rheumatological and Orthopaedic conditions. A significant proportion of these children will have English as an additional language (EAL). He/she will be expected to manage their own caseload, and may need to work alongside medical staff to ensure highly specialist therapy programmes are in place for the children under their care.
They will be expected to work collaboratively with children/young people (CYP), parent/carers and with colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services, in planning and delivery of services to this specific client group. He/she will be the key contact for the paediatric MSK and rheumatology services and will represent the department at relevant meetings both within and outside.
To communicate highly complex patient related information effectively, ensuring collaborative working with multidisciplinary team (MDT) members across health, education and social services and the voluntary sector. To work with medical and educational staff to ensure the delivery of a well-coordinated care plan which facilitates the development of physical skills and integration within a community setting.
To share information with others, observing confidentiality and data protection guidelines and having due regard for local guidance on sharing information with colleagues in education, social services and voluntary sector.
To communicate highly complex condition related information (both verbally and in the written form) from assessment, to CYP, Parents/carers, and members of the MDT/other professions. This includes child specific information as well as training packages to parents and other professionals in the management of MSK, Orthopaedic and rheumatological conditions.
To have due regard for the cultural and linguistic differences of children/families concerned.
