Job description
Overview

We are looking for bank nurses to work in our Emergency Department.

We offer regular day and night shifts and pay a full 11.5 hours for a long shift. You must be a qualified nurse with 6 months post qualification experience, preferably in an acute setting. You must have completed a certificate in Critical Care and be able to provide evidence of this. Please see person specification for details of required experience and qualifications.

Our Emergency Department sees over 90,000 patients a year, and has an integrated Paediatric Emergency Department and an Urgent Care Centre. We are in the unique position of having a consultant-led Care of the Elderly Team who assess older patients for appropriate admission or organise enhanced social care support in the community. The Urgent Care Centre within our Emergency Department has our ENPs working with the GPs to deliver an efficient and responsive service. The department has an active research programme with a number of nursing staff undertaking research projects.

World class services

The Royal Free London NHS Trust is an internationally renowned teaching hospital, rated as excellent by the Care Quality Commission. Our trust has around 10,000 staff serving 1.6 million patients. It comprises Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital and more than 30 services in the community. This larger scale organisation provides an opportunity to continue pioneering work, particularly in finding ways to deliver even better care to our patients.

Mission and values

Our mission is to deliver world class care and expertise in our clinical services, underpinned by world class teaching and research. We will continue to measure progress against our five governing objectives: excellent outcomes, excellent patient and staff experience, excellent value for taxpayers' money, being safe and meeting external duties, and building a strong organisation.

Everyone is welcome at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. We are proud of our diversity and we continue to undertake new initiatives to advance equality for LGBT+, BME, gender equality, staff carers and people with disabilities and lived experiences to promote good relations and understanding between our staff.
