Deputy Director of Informatics (Clinical Systems)

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) is seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Deputy Director of Informatics (Clinical Systems) to lead the strategic development and delivery of our clinical systems portfolio.

In this senior leadership role you will be responsible for the deployment, optimisation and performance of key systems including Millennium, Sectra, WinPath and EMIS. You will oversee the successful delivery of the Millennium programme and associated digital initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and deliver measurable benefits for patients and staff.

Working closely with clinical, operational and executive stakeholders you will drive interoperability, digital maturity and continuous improvement across the Trust and wider health community. You will provide expert leadership to a multidisciplinary informatics team, manage significant budgets and resources and represent Informatics at senior governance forums.

Daily responsibilities include providing routine status reports, regular updates and expert level input into project board meetings and steering committees related to clinical systems.

  • Deliver the agreed informatics strategy jointly with ICT and Information teams.
  • Own significant budget allocation, operational leadership, staffing demands and capabilities.
  • Ensure a suitable team of experts is available to the Trust to provide smooth and safe operational delivery of the clinical systems.
