Job Title: Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Stroke

Salary: £32 Hourly
Contract: Ongoing | Part-time | Initial 3 months

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist within the Stroke unit in Colwyn Bay. This part-time locum position, initially set for 3 months, involves working in both early supported discharge (community) and a Stroke rehab ward in a community hospital, ideally in person. Offering a competitive hourly rate of £32, this opportunity allows for both professional growth and a chance to make a significant impact on patient care.

What you will do
  • Assess and manage the speech, language, and communication needs of patients recovering from stroke within the community and on the rehab ward.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting understanding and enhancing quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, complying with legal and professional requirements.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing professional development sessions.
