Overview

An exciting locum opportunity is available for a Band 6 Speech & Language Therapist (SLT) to join the Adult Community Team in Carshalton. This ongoing role offers a competitive hourly rate of £29.00 and the chance to work in a dynamic community setting, providing specialist assessment, treatment, and interventions for adults with neurological conditions and acquired communication or swallowing difficulties.

You will work autonomously across the borough of Sutton, delivering high-quality care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions for adults with neurological conditions and swallowing difficulties.

Manage rehabilitation and ongoing treatment for individuals with long-term conditions in diverse community environments.

Conduct home visits, liaising with GPs and the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure coordinated care planning.

Maintain meticulous patient records and contribute professional insights in MDT meetings.

Travel independently across Sutton to provide community-based care.

HCPC registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.

Experience working with adult patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, head injury, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis.

Dysphagia trained with expertise in managing swallowing difficulties.

Proven experience in rehabilitation and long-term condition management.

Prior community service experience with the ability to work independently.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within Sutton.

Own car for use in this role, with mileage reimbursement.

EMIS trained and NHS Smartcard holder.
