Band 6 Specialist Rotational Physiotherapist

We are excited to announce that we have a vacancy within our Band 6 Respiratory Physiotherapy rotations.

The five nine month rotations cover a broad range of specialties as follows;

Intensive care and HDU with focus on weaning, rehabilitation and Respiratory management

Medicine - including Acute NIV, respiratory out patients and cover to the High Level Isolation Unit.

Hepato-Pancreatico-biliary surgery including ERAS pathway and prehabilitation

Liver Transplantation

Main duties of the job

We are fortunate to have a Respiratory Physiotherapy Consultant with a special interest in non-invasive ventilation and research and she provides support to the wider team.

Each specialty benefits from excellent leadership and is run by experienced clinical leads. You will be well supported and will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in all the core areas of Respiratory care whilst enjoying close working relationships with the whole multi-disciplinary team.

Person Specification
Education & professional Qualifications
  • Degree/ graduate diploma or equivalent in Physiotherapy
  • Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a physiotherapist
  • Certificated graduate courses or equivalent in-house training in clinical specialty areas
  • Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
  • Membership of special interest group - ACPRC

Experience
  • Good understanding of relevant clinical guidelines
  • Broad range of clinical experience at a Band 5 level or above
  • Experience of working in an acute, hospital based setting, including working within an MDT

  • Supervision of more junior staff, assistants and/students
  • Active participation in an audit or project work
  • Computer literate, to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Experience of weekend working and emergency on-call working
  • Motivational Interviewing/ Behaviour Change training (CBT or facilitation skills)

  • Evidence of specialist clinical skills and core Physiotherapy skills
  • Ability to work effectively within different teams both multi and uni-disciplinary
