Job description
Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our friendly support team in the Haematology/Transfusion Department at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital and Burnley General Teaching Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Perform technical and scientific processes within the Haematology/Transfusion discipline to support the BMS staff.
  • Receipt and recording of samples (blood transfusion).
  • Perform sample analysis using the department's automated analysers.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain analysis equipment.
  • Run quality control processes.
  • Support BMS staff to aid in the diagnosis of haematological disorders and transfusion-related complications.
  • Follow the department's written procedures (SOPs).
Notes

Candidates who were interviewed in the previous week will not be considered for this current round of interviews.

Requirements and Conditions
  • Full training will be provided; any previous laboratory experience will be an advantage.
  • The post is full time (37.5 hours per week).
  • A flexible working approach is required with a roster that includes days, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
