Overview

A Vacancy at Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. We are looking for someone to support the work of our Phlebotomy department based across two sites at Queen’s and King George Hospitals. The successful candidate will join our team in bleeding patients in ward areas, outpatient areas and outreach clinics.

Responsibilities
  • Provide phlebotomy services to all hospital areas under the guidance of senior and lead phlebotomists and the phlebotomy manager.
  • Work as part of a phlebotomy team to ensure well-organised phlebotomy services.
  • Work across ward areas, outpatient areas and outreach clinics as required, including on Bank Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience working as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting is essential.
  • Good customer care focus with a pleasant and understanding approach to members of the public.
  • Good/punctual attendance and a flexible approach to work.
  • Local candidates with some previous experience in a healthcare setting are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Satisfactory performance in mathematics and English at secondary school level or equivalent.
  • All work will be undertaken under the supervision of qualified staff.
