Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and their families? Do you want to work in a dynamic, motivated and committed team? This role with Bristol CAMHS-LD could be perfect for you. This post requires you to work with young people up to the age of 19 years who have a moderate to profound learning disability, behaviours which challenge and/or emotional and/or mental health difficulties. The role will involve working in a variety of settings with children/young people and their families along with working collaboratively with the skilled clinicians within the multidisciplinary team and the wider multiagency Network. The post holder will assist in the delivery of specialist support for children and young people who have a learning disability.

The post holder will be required to work across a variety of settings (e.g. family homes, educational settings and respite units) to support children and young people and their families ensuring that they receive structured support. During The Pandemic, the role requires a mixture of working from home, along with some office working and direct working with young people in a variety of environments they access. Resources to support remote working are provided, such as laptop and mobile phone.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a support worker who has a passion and experience for working with young people with additional and complex emotional, behavioural and mental health needs. A kind, caring, compassionate and patient approach is essential, along with having creative and adaptable mindset are key to meet the varying needs of our service users.

You will be required to travel around the county to carry out direct work, so the ability to travel is essential.
