A regional healthcare provider in Llanelli is seeking a part-time Band 2 Medical Laboratory Assistant for its Blood Science Department. The successful candidate will undertake various duties including handling samples, entering patient information, and serving as the first contact for inquiries. This role requires excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with in-house training provided. A good command of Welsh is desirable. Flexible working hours are from Monday to Friday, 1 pm to 5 pm, ensuring a balanced work environment.

The successful candidate will be based at Prince Philip Hospital and will be required to undertake a wide range of duties appropriate to the post and job description, including receiving and handling samples, entering patient details into the Laboratory's computer system, transporting samples to laboratory areas, and acting as first point of contact for Patients and Nursing/Medical staff both face‑to‑face and by telephone enquiries. Full in‑house training will be provided upon commencement under the direction of the Pathology Reception Team Leader.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Interviews will be held on 17/12/2025. The post will be 20 hours per week with a working pattern of Monday to Friday 1 pm to 5 pm.
