Responsibilities
  • Carry out delegated nursing tasks for a varied group of patients, including bathing, toileting, feeding and providing pressure care.
  • Maintain tidy and clean department and household housekeeping duties.
  • Escort low‑dependency patients to other wards.
  • Assist with obtaining urine/faeces samples as required by trained nurse.
  • Assist patients with dietary requirements and monitor daily food order as instructed by registered nurse.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients/carers and with colleagues.
  • Work with other health professionals to achieve a multi‑disciplinary approach to treatment and care.
  • Inform nursing staff of any issues or changes in patients’ condition and report to registered nurse at all times.
  • Recognise and respond to urgent and emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • Experience in care, preferably in a hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Initiative and organisational skills.
  • Training, mentorship and support will be provided to the successful candidate.
  • Ability to speak Welsh is desirable. Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • Successful applicant will join a supportive and dedicated team at the Surgical Assessment Unit at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
