Job summary

A tech service provider located near Salisbury is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Engineer for a 6-month contract. The role requires expertise in Azure architecture and strong experience with Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, and cloud security principles. You will be responsible for designing a new Azure tenant and ensuring it meets compliance standards. Candidates must hold or be eligible for SC Clearance. This is a hybrid position, requiring some presence on-site in a secure environment.

Azure DevOps / Engineer – hybrid Salisbury – 6 months – SC cleared - £market rates in IR35)

SC Security Cleared role, required by our services client based near Salisbury, Wiltshire. Commutable from Devizes, Basingstoke, Andover, Bath, Amesbury, Swindon, Trowbridge, Chippenham, Marlborough

days on site tbc - due to remote location - own transport is essential and. Working in an SC Security Cleared environment - you will currently hold SC / DV Clearance, or be eligible to undertake.

Role Purpose

The SC approved (ideally) Senior Azure DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, provisioning, and configuring a new Azure tenant to support the deployment of IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9.1.

The role requires expertise in Azure architecture, networking, security, and automation, ensuring the environment is secure, scalable, and compliant with organisational and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST 800-53, ISO 27001).

Skills Experience

Essential

• Proven experience in Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of Azure networking, RBAC, identity access management.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes / AKS or OpenShift.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Knowledge of cloud security principles, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Sentinel).

Desirable

• Experience deploying or supporting IBM Maximo / MAS 9.1 or similar enterprise applications.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud connectivity (VPN, ExpressRoute). Familiarity with ITIL / TOGAF‑aligned practices.
• Understanding of SOC / SIEM integration for security operations.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or higher.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (preferred).
• Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD) or Red Hat OpenShift certification (advantageous).
• IT security or compliance certifications (CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer) desirable.
