Job summary

A leading recruitment agency seeks a Mechanical Engineer/Technician to join an aviation ground equipment maintenance team in the United Kingdom. This hands-on role involves servicing, inspecting, and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems on airport equipment. You will work safely according to aviation standards and gain full training even without prior GSE experience. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical knowledge and hold a Class 1 HGV Licence. This position is available for those based within commuting distance of Gatwick.

Qualifications

• Experience in HGV, plant, forklifts, buses, construction equipment or similar.
• Strong mechanical & hydraulic knowledge with basic auto-electrics.
• Comfortable reading drawings and fault-finding.
• Class 1 HGV Licence and full UK driving licence.
• Based within commuting distance of Gatwick.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems (12/24V).
• Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals.
• Attend breakdowns on airport sites and complete service documentation.
• Work safely to procedures and aviation standards.
