Overview

Are you a passionate and driven engineering professional with a flair for solving complex problems in industrial environments? We are looking for a Field Service Engineer skilled with Industrial Automation Controls to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team within a global leader in digital industrial automation.

Role

Automation Service Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level technical support for PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems across a variety of industrial sites
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system faults on-site
  • Lead and support commissioning activities and system upgrades
  • Contribute to full project life cycles - from Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through to installation and final handover
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota, supporting critical operations for key customers
The Person / Qualifications
  • HNC/Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Practical experience with multi-vendor control systems—particularly PLC, SCADA, HMI, and DCS platforms
  • Solid understanding of low-voltage electrical systems
  • Familiarity with project execution, from design to commissioning
  • Awareness of industrial cybersecurity and standards is an advantage
  • A solution-focused mindset and a proactive approach to troubleshooting
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
Location and Hours

This business has worked hard to maintain regionally focused teams of Engineers thereby cutting down the amount of nights away from home. As with any travelling role, you need to be prepared to support other regions as needed across the UK & Ireland. They also offer flexible working hours to support a healthy work-life balance.
