Newly Qualified Project Accountant (Global Business/Belfast)

VANRATH is delighted to partner with a dynamic global business to recruit a technically strong NQ Project Accountant to join the growing finance team. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this is a newly created role as the business is experiencing sustained growth. The position offers significant progression opportunities and is suitable for a recently qualified Accountant eager to make their first move into industry.

What you'll do

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly review packs for portfolio and project managers
  • Prepare project analysis & cost reports and propose corrective actions
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Project Accountants
  • Provide timely and accurate financial data to support business management
  • Prepare contract estimates for multi-year budgets and rolling monthly forecasts
  • Collaborate with the wider IAS finance team to provide analysis and support
  • Assist in developing IT tools, reporting techniques, and skills
  • Ensure financial integrity and adherence to processes (UK GAAP, Chorus 2.0)
  • Support finance managers proactively
  • Provide financial support to the project control team
  • Contribute to internal and external audit requirements
  • Perform month-end processing activities
  • Adhere to month-end timetable
  • Update rolling forecast TM1

About you

  • Highly motivated and passionate about adding value
  • Ideally a recently qualified accountant eager to enter industry
  • Ability to communicate complex issues effectively
  • Proven ability to analyze technical and financial data quickly
  • Experience providing financial analysis in a technical environment
  • Good practical understanding of ERP systems (preferably Oracle) and TM1
