A leading accountancy and business advisory firm is seeking an Audit Manager to join their Not for Profit team in Kent. What you'll do:

  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients within the not-for-profit sector, ensuring all work is delivered to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
  • Oversee the preparation of accounts and corporation tax computations/returns for limited companies associated with not-for-profit organisations.
  • Provide practical guidance on regulatory matters including tax and VAT regulations, requirements of UK law, and principles of good governance relevant to charitable entities.
  • Foster enduring client relationships by being responsive to their needs and delivering thoughtful solutions tailored to each organisation's mission.
  • Support workflow planning across your team's portfolios, ensuring deadlines are met and resources are allocated efficiently.
  • Coach and mentor junior members of the team, sharing your knowledge generously to help them develop their technical skills and confidence.
  • Deliver revenue and profitability targets by maintaining high levels of client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for additional services.
  • Collaborate closely with local partners on ad hoc duties as required, contributing positively to the wider success of the office.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) while staying up-to-date with changes in accounting standards affecting not-for-profit organisations.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) or UKGAAP (UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), enabling you to navigate complex reporting requirements confidently.
  • ACA/ACCA/CA or equivalent qualified status is essential for this position, reflecting your commitment to professional excellence.
  • Proven experience auditing clients across a variety of industries with particular emphasis on not-for-profit organisations or charities.
  • Track record of coaching and mentoring junior team members in a considerate manner that encourages growth and learning.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow you to build trust-based relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to provide clear guidance on regulatory matters such as tax legislation, VAT rules, UK law requirements, and principles of good governance relevant to the sector.
