An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Audiology Reception Team based at Darlington Memorial.
Working 37.5 hours as part of our Audiology reception team, the purpose of this role is to provide effective and efficient clerical, reception and administration support within the Audiology Department, ensuring that administration processes meet the needs of all service users. The post holder will be expected to use their own initiative and work independently often without supervision.
The ability to work under pressure both individually and as part of a team is important to ensure that deadlines are met. Good organisational and interpersonal skills are essential to achieve this. Excellent customer service skills are essential for this role.
The successful candidate will be based at Darlington Memorial Hospital and may be required to work at other sites within the Trust, if necessary.
(Please note that some of the initial training will take place at University Hospital North Durham)
To provide reception and administrative duties to the Audiology Department, which involves inputting and maintaining accurate patient information on Trust systems. To ensure quality and customer care standards are met, contributing to positive patient experiences.
To provide an efficient reception service, including answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries from patients, patients’ families, GPs, other departments and manufacturers in a calm and polite manner and in accordance with Trust policy.
To have the ability to multi‑task and prioritise when dealing with patients’ enquiries, telephone calls and other administrative duties.
We provide hospital services from two acute sites – Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community‑based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
