Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust – Audiologist

We are looking for a dynamic audiologist to join our department at Manchester Royal Infirmary. Our unit provides hearing, balance and implant services for adults and children under one management structure within one hospital trust. The role involves assessment and rehabilitation of adults with hearing loss and offers opportunities to develop future specialisms. Successful candidates should possess a BSc in Audiology, Healthcare Science or equivalent.

Key responsibilities

The main duties will be in the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with hearing loss, using the state‑of‑the‑art purpose‑built centre.

Qualifications
  • BSc or diploma in Audiology or Neurosensory Sciences (Audiology) with clinical competency or equivalent
  • Registration with RCCP or HCPC as an Audiologist

  • Past experience in an NHS background
  • Experience with training and development of junior members of staff
  • Experience of working in a UKAS accredited service
  • Experience of providing hearing services to AQP standards
Skills
  • Ability to perform a wide range of audiological tests independently.
  • Experience of fitting and verifying the fit of a range of digital hearing aids
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in a work environment
  • Good oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to assist with stock control on computerised system.
  • Car driver /owner for domiciliary visits
  • Experience in Paeds, BAHA or CI
Other
  • Good IT skills – experience using Microsoft office and / or patient management systems
  • Able to work flexibly over a 6 day period
  • Ability to work across multiple sites and clinical locations
  • Familiar with using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
