Job summary

A reputable education staffing agency is seeking experienced School Attendance Officers to work on a temporary basis in Primary, Secondary, and SEN Schools in the East Midlands. The positions involve monitoring attendance, supporting students and their families, and collaborating with educational staff to enhance attendance rates. Candidates must have experience in school attendance or administration and an enhanced DBS. A commitment to safeguarding children is essential. Flexible work hours are available.

Are you an experienced School Attendance Officer looking for a new and exciting opportunity?

Aspire People are currently recruiting School Attendance Officers to work on a temporary basis in Primary, Secondary and SEN Schools. The roles we have are a mixture of full‑time and part‑time and are due to start as soon as possible.

Applicants must have previous experience as an Attendance Officer in schools or have experience working within school administration. Applicants must have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to pay for a new one.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring whole school attendance, persistent absence and punctuality
  • Ongoing monitoring of attendance for students
  • Identify students who require support with their attendance
  • Liaise with Senior Leadership Team, Heads of House and Tutors, SENCo, inclusion team and other relevant staff regarding students who are of concern
  • Raise attendance issues with parents
  • Meet with both students and parents to support them in improving attendance
  • Meet with Education Welfare Officer on a weekly basis
  • Refer students who are not meeting attendance targets
