ByrneLooby requires a seasoned engineer with highly developed technical engineering, interpersonal and organisational skills, the focus will be on heavy civil structures, bridges and other major permanent and temporary structures principally in the rail, highway, energy and water sectors along with other opportunities as appropriate.

The individual will have overall responsibility for the growth, performance and engineering delivery of this section of our business and will be able to call on the support from existing experienced staff.

  • Experienced on major civil structures projects from concept to detailed design engineering
  • Ability to monitor progress, resolve technical issues and provide technical direction during the development of projects from concept through to detailed design
  • Successfully plan, organise and manage resources, provide leadership, mentor and motivate a team of Engineers
  • Effective communication with clients, colleagues, external agencies and build effective working relationships
  • Commercially astute, able to prepare technical and commercial bids, win work, project manage and consistently deliver significant projects to program and budget
  • A degree in civil engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered status from an appropriate professional body
  • Ideally around 20 years+ civil structures design and project delivery experience
