Tax Manager

Sheridan Maine is partnering with a rapidly growing organisation based in London to recruit a Tax Manager. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant with strong tax experience to take on greater client responsibility.

Role Overview

As a qualified accountant within the agricultural and rural business sector, you will advise a diverse portfolio—from entrepreneurs to landed estates—and develop effective tax planning and commercial insight for clients.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a varied client portfolio, overseeing the preparation and completion of annual accounts and business tax returns.
  • Provide proactive advice on remuneration strategies, profit forecasts, and business planning.
  • Deliver guidance on capital taxes and review VAT submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships, identifying opportunities to add value through effective tax planning and commercial insight.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development and technical growth.
  • Act as an ambassador for the firm, representing the business at client meetings and industry events.
Qualifications
  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Experience and knowledge in the agricultural and rural business sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient at developing client relationships.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel, Xero, and Sage.
  • NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2 or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role (required).
