Overview

Harrods is seeking an Associate Procurement Category Manager to take ownership of a defined category and deliver strategic and operational objectives aligned with Harrods' procurement vision. This pivotal role involves managing a multi-million-pound spend, developing category strategies, and driving value through cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation. You will lead sourcing initiatives, engage proactively with stakeholders, and ensure compliance and maximum value across the category.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for the procurement of goods and services within the Finance category, covering strategic category management, delivering short- to long-term cost improvements, and managing supplier relationships. While knowledge of this category is advantageous, it is not essential.

As an Associate Procurement Category Manager at Harrods, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering category strategies that drive value, efficiency, and compliance across the business. This position requires a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement, supplier relationship management, and strategic sourcing to ensure security of supply, quality, and cost optimization. You will lead category management for the Finance category, implementing best practices and supporting Harrods' procurement vision.

Responsibilities
  • Implement strategic category management plans to deliver security of supply, quality, service, and cost benefits.
  • Lead category management for the assigned category, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
  • Develop and implement category strategies independently, driving cost savings and supplier performance.
  • Ensure approved legal contracts are in place for significant suppliers and recorded in the Harrods contract database (GEP).
  • Actively manage key internal stakeholders to meet business requirements and resolve short-term issues.
Qualifications
  • You will bring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to this role. You will be confident working independently with limited supervision while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing priorities. Your excellent interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build strong relationships across the business, and your commitment to Harrods values will shine through in everything you do.
  • Good PC literacy, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and other standard applications.
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability and willingness to multi-task effectively.
  • A keen eye for detail, evident through accurate and thorough administration.
  • A strong work ethic and readiness to adapt to evolving priorities.
  • The ability to perform duties effectively with limited supervision and guidance.
