A major healthcare trust in London is seeking an individual for the Cellular Pathology Department at the Royal London Hospital. The role involves supervising histology reception and troubleshooting issues within a UKAS and HCPC accredited lab. Candidates must have a positive attitude towards flexible working and a commitment to supporting clinical services. This position offers 37.5 hours per week and is an opportunity to contribute within a well-established Pathology Partnership.
The Cellular Pathology Department at the Royal London Hospital is looking for someone with a positive attitude to working in a flexible manner. The department provides diagnostic and screening services for the whole of North East London and has a combined workload of 78,000 histology and 5,000 non-gynae cytology specimens. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting the clinical services of the Trust and meeting the needs of our patients. The laboratory is UKAS and HCPC accredited.
To carry out work in the Reception and Dissection area of Cellular Pathology, supervising in the Histology reception, trouble shooting issues and working on the tissue transfer benches.
The working hours will be 37.5 per week over standard core Agenda for Change hours.
The NHS East and South East London Pathology Partnership is an arms-length organisation providing pathology services to Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. The Pathology Partnership is hosted by Barts Health. The Pathology Partnership was formed in May 2021. Between 2021 and 2024 the Partnership undertook a complex transformation programme to establish a single network of laboratories, underpinned by a single Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and single Quality Management System (QMS). The Partnership has a main hub laboratory at the Royal London Hospital and Essential Service Laboratories (ESL) as a minimum at the six other hospital sites served by the Partnership. The Partnership has three operational divisions:
The 2024/25 total operating costs across the Partnership were c. £121m per annum with a workforce establishment of circa. 860 WTE.
