Role – Associate Landscape Architect

Location – Dorset

Salary – £DOE

A growing multidisciplinary consultancy is looking for an experienced Associate Landscape Architect to join its Bournemouth studio. This role offers the chance to lead and deliver a wide variety of projects — from vibrant public realm and large residential masterplans to community-focused landscapes, mixed-use developments, and schemes that place biodiversity and climate resilience at the core of design.

The team takes on a wide mix of projects, from large masterplans and public spaces to detailed planting and landscape design. There’s a strong focus on making places that work well day to day, feel welcoming, and stand the test of time. Sustainability and biodiversity are part of the thinking from the very start, so the work has a positive impact both now and in the future.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading projects from initial design through to construction
  • Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues
  • Developing masterplans, planting concepts, and technical packages
  • Collaborating with clients, consultants, and contractors to achieve design excellence
  • Ensuring sustainability, nature recovery, and net-zero principles are central to each scheme
IDEAL KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • A degree/postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture
  • A Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI)
  • A strong design portfolio with examples of large-scale or complex projects
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D modelling tools
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
  • A good understanding of planning processes and environmental considerations
