About The Role

These are exciting times at ARAG Law as we are going through a period of positive change and sustained growth across our friendly and high-performing Employment Law department.

About the team :

Our Employment Law team manage all aspects of employment law, from advising an employee on pursuing an unfair dismissal claim, or a claim for unpaid wages, to defending claims of whistleblowing and discrimination on behalf of respondents.

As well as acting for employees and employers during the litigation process, they also provide advisory HR services such as drafting contracts & policies or guiding and supporting businesses through the complexity of employment law requirements.

About the role :

We’re looking for someone join us as an Employment Associate, to handle a variety employment work, from initial referral to conclusion. This will involve non-contentious work, such as advice on settlement agreement terms, drafting and negotiation of settlement agreements, contracts of employment and handbooks and policies

We drive a culture of effective and efficient case handling, so you’ll ensure our customers always receive the highest standard of service, and you’ll adhere to regulatory and company processes, whilst considering the cost aspects.

This role can be a hybrid role – minimum 2 days per week in the office - if you live within a commutable distance of either our Bristol City Centre office (5 minutes’ walk from Temple Meads station) or our Bedwas office in South Wales. However, we will also consider fully remote candidates if you live too far way to commute – this will be dependent upon your experience level and ability to work remotely.

About You

We are keen to hear from you if you have sound experience in Employment Litigation, and can demonstrate the following :

  • Previous experience of contentious and non-contentious Employment Litigation work (essential).
  • Good working knowledge of Employment Law and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience of, or a strong desire to assist in business development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver against deadlines, KPI’s and SLA’s.
  • Proactive approach to managing your own caseload to a high standard.
  • Clear and demonstrable understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to work highly collaboratively, with exceptional client care skills.
