We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Associate Director NFR Framework and Governance

This role sits within the Risk Framework and Governance team and will be dedicated to the delivery and embedding of Lessons Learned and Thematic Risk Review processes. The role holder’s primary responsibilities will be focussed on supporting the Business learn from events which have taken place either in the industry or in a specific business/ location internally and read across relevant findings and control enhancements while monitoring for areas for thematic investigation and remediation.

The effective management of Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a high priority for Markets and Securities Services (MSS). The MSS Governance and Framework team sits within the 1LOD Non-Financial Risk function and is responsible for the oversight and effective embedding of the NFR Framework.

This role will play a key part in managing the MSS NFR profile and will drive proactive identification of risk areas and development of control enhancements across the MSS business globally

In this role you will:
  • Assist in managing the Non-Financial Risk Framework for MSS including governance and oversight of controls effectiveness and identification of thematic enhancement activities
  • Ingestion, understanding and triage of a number of internal and external event feeds for applicability and risk quantifications whilst monitoring internal and external events for read across to the MSS business and understand the impact on the risk profile
  • Proactively identify process and control enhancements across the MSS business and conduct deep dive reviews into events/ controls/ processes to proactively manage risk.
  • Identify key control enhancements to mitigate potential risks highlighted through the lessons learned process and work with SMEs to drive the appropriate solutions to enhance risk mitigation
  • Drive the governance over Policies and Procedures impacting or owned by MSS to ensure they are fit for purpose and successfully embedded into BAU in addition to working with multiple stakeholders across the lines of defence. In particular, manage stakeholder relationships across the MSS asset classes, risk stewards and group policy leads
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
  • An understanding of Non-Financial Risk is essential in addition to a background in the 1st or 2nd Line of Defence is highly preferable
  • Knowledge of the MSS business and an understanding of at least one of the Markets Trading businesses is paramount along with analytical rigour and problem-solving skills
  • Strong delivery focus with project management skills are key including management of working groups and effective delivery and embedding of change
  • Stakeholder management across multiple functions (including MSS Front Office, Product Control, Traded Risk, Compliance, Audit)
  • Good communication skills, using a range of communication channels (including writing, presentations, and workshops)
