A leading financial institution is seeking a motivated associate for product management in Transaction Banking. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience in technical integration and must possess strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. This role is integral to managing the end-to-end product lifecycle for cash management and trade finance solutions across the UK and Europe.
MUFG has a developing and thriving Transaction Banking business, headquartered in Tokyo, spanning all continents. Transaction Banking Office for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) forms part of MUFG’s Global Transaction Banking Division. Our key responsibilities are to drive regional business and support global and regional customers with Transaction Banking solutions in Cash and Liquidity Management, Trade and Working Capital, Foreign Exchange through a comprehensive suite of proprietary and 3rd party digital channels. We support our local and international cash management services for our Corporate, FI and NBFI client base. Transaction Banking EMEA consists of Trade, Working Capital, Cash and Liquidity Management solutions and includes product, sales, implementation, client services, and business planning and risk functions.
The role requires a motivated associate (minimum of 3-5 years experience), accountable for E2E Product Life Cycle management, product P&L management, risk, compliance and conduct management of digital channels for Transaction Banking (proprietary e-banking; host to host and SWIFT), from a proprietary and 3rd party platform provider. This role may suit a candidate who has experience in technical integration solutions, has acted as a client-facing channel, and has client-side ERP / TMS integration solution specialist experience in pre-scoping, RFP and post mandate advisory function. It supports a VP in the ownership of the end-to-end life cycle management of the core solutions for UK, Europe & MENA including:
Proprietary E-banking: MUFG proprietary global electronic banking platform and applications for accounts visibility, payment initiation, authorisation and execution (GCMS+); Cash flow forecasting (CFF), Comsuite FX (Spot FX and FX Netting), and industry reporting on the channel.
Proprietary Host to Host: MUFG host to host solution, GPH, representing direct integration between MUFG and client ERP, TMS or other financial applications; applicable industry reporting standard on the channel.
SWIFT direct connectivity: Direct connectivity for fin/fileact in Direct & Alliance / Lite models; contract negotiations and client solutioning.
Industry 3rd party platforms for cash management and trade finance: MUFG also interfaces with clients through 3rd party platforms for cash management, trade finance (Bolero, Komgo, GTC, Mitigram) and Markets (deposits, FX, repo; Kyriba, 360T, FXall, Refinitiv); Salesforce.
Compliance: Compliance with industry reporting (e.g., camt), cybersecurity standards, operational resilience, and contingencies; ensuring Channel COTs are updated and interoperable with MUFG approved currency COTs.
Industry and regulation expertise: Strong working knowledge of regulatory and industry change regarding channels, client/bank integration, testing and client data usage, risk considerations; awareness of ISO20022 migration, PSD2, open banking, real-time financial crime solutions, and API developments.
Strong technical and commercial product management skills: Ability to use data to form, drive and prove business steering for execution; collaborate with front office, operations and technology to drive direction, continuous improvement, scalability, automation and profitability for TB EMEA solutions. Knowledge of global channels in host-to-host and direct SWIFT enablement is critical, including migration of clients to new channels and industry solutions (e.g., SEPA migration, instant payments).
Other capabilities: Competence in business case development, product development and governance, and management of product development with technology and operations partners; ability to influence stakeholders for new product developments and approvals for launch. You will also support communicating client/industry/regulatory landscapes to Global TB teams, Sales, Implementation and Service teams.
You should have proactive communication and interpersonal skills to work across MUFG networks and clients, and be a resilient problem solver capable of timely resolution and escalation when needed.
Learn and support Product ownership and business steering of proprietary and 3rd party digital channels comprising:
Product lifecycle and governance Understand and contribute to end-to-end product lifecycle management via monthly MIS, annual 3LOD assessments, and risk/conduct frameworks; support product income and cost budgeting and pricing governance for TB EMEA.

E2E process accountability
Regulatory & business risk / E2E product risk: manage risks identified by stakeholders; ensure ISO20022, PSD2, SEPA changes and API change programmes; ensure regulatory compliance with PRA, FCA, BaFin where applicable; contribute to TB RAF and Open Pages; uphold ethics and conduct.
