Job description

You will be part of the Data Governance team which supports the following activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the Data Governance framework is in line with policies and procedures
  • KDE and Dataflow management
  • Data Quality monitoring and MI
  • Data Change Management
  • Implementation and maintenance of manual controls
  • Support change projects and maturing the Data Governance framework
  • Act as a centralised point of contact for Core Compliance queries and support the Core Compliance Data Steward
  • Support maintaining departmental data policies, standards and procedures; understand data flows into Core Compliance systems; document and elevate gaps; collaborate with local and regional data governance teams
  • Support the Core Compliance Data Issue management process; coordinate and create material for regular meetings; seek solutions for open issues; elevate to management as required
  • Support data quality metrics, dashboards and reports
  • Update the data landscape and document control environments as systems evolve
  • Proactively gaps in BAU activities, implement controls, improvements and interim solutions
  • Participate in data testing activities, including data quality validation and reconciliation exercises
  • Support change projects as required
  • Contribute to maturing the framework
Relationship with other functions and stakeholders
  • Maintain and enhance good working relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally, sharing best practices, providing support and seeking opportunities for collaboration

The role holder will be assessed in accordance with their employing entity's performance framework and process with relevant input obtained from the dual-hatting entity as relevant.

As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the role holder. The role holder will carry out other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the role as requested by their line manager or department head.

  • Follow regulatory requirements applicable to ensure each business is appropriately supported and maintain the legal entity integrity of MUFG Bank and MUS
  • Work under the terms of the dual-hat arrangement agreement and any other relevant agreements between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc
  • Identify and resolve differences or conflicts between MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc, escalating to their manager as required

Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree with further professional qualification an advantage
  • 5+ years experience in Data Governance leading international financial services institutions
  • Understanding of implementing data governance frameworks
  • Experience of Compliance surveillance platforms advantageous but not required
  • Experience executing and managing Data Governance frameworks including issue investigation and management, change management and MI creation
  • Experience using Data Governance tools, automation tools and business analytic tools (Tableau or any other BI Tool)
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and improve processes and controls
  • Prior experience in a task-oriented team working to multiple deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
