Assistant Transport Manager – Telford | Permanent | Up to £35,000 - Depending on experience | Monday to Friday Days


Our long-term National client in Telford are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Transport Manager to join their evolving business. This is a great time to join as they are looking to streamline and improve processes within the business to optimise efficiency.


Responsibilities


  • Ensuring that all vehicle maintenance, inspection and repairs are scheduled and carried out on time and according to budget

  • Ensuring all data related to fleet and vehicle assets is maintained and kept up to date

  • Support the Transport Manager in ensuring legal and regulatory compliance

  • Monitor and track departmental costs and identify potential areas for cost saving

  • Support the Transport Supervisors

  • Collate and analyse data on fleet performance


Skills and Experience


  • Must have a strong transport background

  • Experience and strong understanding of vehicle/fleet compliance

  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify areas for improvement in service and cost

  • Strong understanding of fleets and transport processes

  • CPC qualification - preferred

  • Computer literate

  • This role would suit a candidate who has previously worked as a Transport Supervisor / Transport Coordinator / Fleet Supervisor / Fleet Coordinator / Assistant Fleet Manager / Transport Compliance Coordinator
