A local charitable organization in Hove is seeking an Assistant Manager for their retail operations. The ideal candidate will have retail and customer service skills, with responsibilities including team management, stock control, and enhancing customer experience. Our Shops and Distribution Centres provide one of our most important revenue streams and offer quality items and a friendly service.

As an Assistant Manager, it will be helpful if you have retail and customer service skills, although full training will be given.
Using people skills to help deliver income to the hospice. Helping to give excellent customer service, assisting in managing a team of staff and volunteers, stock control, promoting and capturing Gift Aid, daily cash handling and banking, ensuring the staff, volunteers, the shop and the site are safe and secure. You will be energetic and love variety and keeping our shop commercial and appealing. You will have responsibility for all aspects of the business in the absence of the manager after full induction training.
The post is based in our Martlets Showroom/discount shop, Old Shoreham Road, Hove, but involves regular travel to the hospices, the Retail Distribution Centre and to other shops in Sussex. The role may involve managing and supporting in other shops as requested.

Chestnut Tree House is the children’s hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
