Overview

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an internal candidate to join our vibrant Access Team as an Assistant Service Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external colleagues, including Operational, Admin, Clinical, and Business Intelligence teams, to manage and achieve the NHS Cancer Waiting Times Operational Standards and performance for the trust.
  • Support the collection, analysis, and validation of complex performance and IPT data to ensure timely, accurate, and fit-for-purpose national and statutory submissions (NHSD).
  • Lead and manage the Patient Pathway/MDT coordinators, working closely with the Waiting Times Manager, Deputy Cancer Manager, and General Managers to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the service for cancer patients.
  • Manage and lead MDTs, facilitate PTLs and RTT Validation, monitor data quality, analyse performance, and report.
  • Participate in service improvement and development initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Waiting Times Manager when necessary.
Requirements / What we’re looking for
  • Lead and motivate teams with a high degree of self-motivation, experience in people management, and keen attention to detail.
  • IT literate, able to navigate trust IT systems, and understand national Cancer Waiting Times targets.
  • Adaptable with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, outstanding communication and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to multitask and use initiative in a busy environment.
  • A proactive approach to addressing targets and deadlines, while ensuring the smooth running of the service is essential.
Location

This role is based at CCCW, but travel across sites will be required.
