Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Sheffield is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their civil engineering team. In this role, you will prepare estimates, analyze costs, and assist in final accounts negotiations. The ideal candidate has experience in a contracting environment, preferably in rail, and must have or be working towards an HND/HNC. Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential. Qualifications

• Experience working in a contracting environment, preferably in rail.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates using a schedule of rates.
• Price variations and technical queries.
• Analyse cost reports and assist in producing final accounts.
• Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients.
• Compile cost-value reconciliations and submit periodic valuations.
