Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Hillingdon, West London (Hybrid Working) — Up to £35,000 per annum

Are you an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for your next challenge in a dynamic, commercially focused environment? We’re working with a well-established business seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join their growing commercial team.

The Role

As an Assistant QS, you’ll play a key role in maintaining commercial control across multiple contracts. You’ll manage payment applications, oversee contract administration, liaise with clients, and support the implementation of a new pay and bill system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage payment applications, ensuring accuracy across timesheets and rates
  • Issue interim valuations (invoices/applications) in line with contract requirements
  • Reconcile payment applications with internal ledgers, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Monitor payment progress, notices, certificates, and receipts in collaboration with the credit control team
  • Set up new jobs and update trades/rates in internal systems
  • Raise manual invoices and manage sales ledger exports
  • Administer contracts, including rate changes and volume rebates
  • Liaise with clients to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Attend project meetings and contribute to commercial reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Commercial, Finance, Payroll, and Operations
  • Provide cover for other commercial assistants when needed
Working Hours & Location
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:30pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Hybrid Working: 4 days in-office, 1 day from home
  • Location: Office-based, approx. 15 mins by bus from the local station
  • Parking: Available – ideal for drivers
