Overview
A really exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist in our North East Essex Autism Service. This service links with our NE/West Adult ADHD service and we are planning to develop a neurodevelopmental service in the future. The assistant psychologist will provide psychological assessment, triage and screening of referrals, and clinically related administration under supervision. Assessments take place remotely and in person at a base in Colchester. The role may involve travel to other bases across Essex for meetings and/or assessments.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychological assessment, triage and screening of referrals under supervision.
- Engage in audit, service evaluation and/or research.
- Undertake teaching and project work under appropriate supervision.
- Participate in service development or changes as needs/priorities evolve.
- Travel to other bases across Essex for meetings and/or assessments as required.
- Develop a psychologically based framework of understanding and care for clients of the service.
- Maintain high standards of professional practice through a programme of continued professional development agreed with the line manager.
- Receive weekly supervision in accordance with BPS guidelines and Trust policy.
- Adhere to the professional codes of practice of the Health Professions Council, British Psychological Society and Trust policies for report writing and clinical record keeping.
- Undergo regular performance appraisal and review with the line manager.
Requirements and Professional Development
- Undertake continued professional development in line with BPS recommendations to develop skills and competencies relevant to current duties.
- Maintain the highest standards of professional practice through an identified programme of continued professional development agreed with the line manager.
- Receive weekly supervision and participate in ongoing CPD as part of role expectations.
- Adhere to local policies and procedures, with regard to report writing and clinical record keeping.
