King John's House is a medieval house located in Romsey, Hampshire, UK close to Romsey Abbey. The museum showcases three small medieval, Tudor, and Victorian buildings with collections that tell the story of the people who have lived and worked around the area. The house features medieval graffiti and a unique bone floor, set in a period‑style garden with a new onsite cafe.
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced and reliable Assistant Manager to join our team, assisting in overseeing the operational running of our site including the onsite café and assisting the Museum Manager and Board of Trustees with the soon-to-start restoration of King John’s House.
This post will combine day‑to‑day staff and site management duties with supporting the Museum Manager. This will involve ongoing operational duties, volunteer management and management of the museum's various social media streams.
